I hadn't been to 801 Chophouse for a couple years, so we went for dinner during Restaurant week. DELICIOUS! Food was superb. Service was outstanding. Atmosphere was divine. Highly recommend.
My wife and I dined there for the celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary! The staff was warm and our waiter Nick (Nicholas) was great! We got a welcome drink (Kir Royal) and a dessert on the house. The manager handed to us a personalized copy of the menu for us to take! The menu was not extensive but elaborate with excellent choices between seafood, fish, and Steak. We opted for oysters rockfeller and a sample platter of fresh oyster from Connecticut and Prince Edwards Islands as appetizers. My wife really enjoyed the oyster rockfeller while I was in heaven with the oysters. It is worth mentionning the fresh oyster were presented with a menu describing their origin, how they were farmed, and their characteristics. I truly enjoyed learning about each kind of oysters and discovered in the process that like in France in the Bassin d'Arcachon/Cap Ferret, PEI has many different oysters varieties. For the main dish we selected to go with a Fillet Mignon made Oscar (sauce bearnaise, crab meat and asparagus). It was cooked as requested and truly tender and succulent with the sauce bearnaise and crab meat. As a side dish we had scallop potatoes with a delicious cheese crust. It was a special occasion in a special place!!!! I would recommend anyone to try the 801 Chophouse!
