Restaurant owner Casey Adams has introduced a dining experience like no other in the Kansas City area. Nara, a neo-Japanese restaurant, is located in a beautifully renovated building in the heart of the Crossroads District in Downtown Kansas City. Nara specializes in fresh sushi, Japanese favorites and other Asian-inspired dishes. The name Nara was inspired by an ancient Japanese city famous for urban tranquility. Substance and style mingle together creating a hip, happening spot. The unique ambiance of this restaurant and the variety of menu items makes for an unforgettable dining experience!
"What a delight! You step into another world...the decor is amazing (including the restrooms). The staff is the most helpful in town; I had never had Japanese food before but none of my questions were left unanswered. I ordered a Bento Box; a meal that really did come in a box; an ornate black laquer box with compartments inside containing salmon, noodles, California egg roll, and fruit. It was a work of art and I hated to eat it. But it was delicious. I also ordered a ginger, pear cheesecake which turned out to be another work of art. Three round cheesecakes placed on a rectangular plate with bursts of strawberry on top and more strawberries all around. Fabulous. My experience there was joyous. I was like a kid on a holiday. My highest recommendations to to NARA. "

" I am so excited to find a great sushi bar in kc! I am from st. louis and used to frequent the Drunken Fish quite often for there amazing sushi. Took me over 1 year to find this gem in kansas city, but well worth the wait! Even better, is that it is only one block away from my office.
