"The Majestic Steakhouse is one of those places that has been around so long you may forget it ... but don't! It's better than ever! I had one of their specials, a beef tenderloin with Bordelaise sauce and blue cheese that was just amazing! It was perfection, served with fresh veggies and a great baked potato, and a nice red wine. The service was top notch, and the prices very reasonable. Dinner was enhanced by some really nice live jazz that evening; Julie Nelson sang her heart out to a smooth jazz combo. The Majestic Steakhouse brings a lot of Kansas City's best dining out elements together for us to enjoy! " |

great. We had the filet and it was very good - juicy and tender. We
also had the steak soup which was excellent. The waitress was not
very friendly, but she was attentive. We did sit in the front of the
restaurant and it was cold outside, which meant we caught the draft
from the door." |

"We
recently ate at The Majestic where we felt the food was considerably
high priced for what we received. Their KC Strip - which was either a
l0 or 12 oz cut, was offered at $38.00. The Waiter recommended this
steak, but it was nothing spectacular or anything to brag about to
others. It was served with a baked potato (like home) and vegetables
added to the plate. No special presentation. I had a house salad
(nothing special about it). A few rolls were provided; but, if you
needed more, you had to ask for them. The other item ordered was
Prime Rib at $33.00 Prime Rib was very good, yet a little pricey. We
ate on the Main Floor in the bar section, waiter was very courteous,
and he presented the menu items well. Portabella Mushroom appetizer
was ok, but nothing superb for the price. Vodka tonics were $9.00
each.. little steep, but used Absolute Vodka without asking your
preference. It just showed up on the bill as such.
I cannot forget that the restrooms were located downstairs and
smelled of sewer odor along with being filthy and heavy dust had
accumulated on the chair rails in the restroom. Lighting was so
dim,, you could barely see in the mirrors. I know it is an old
building in a historic neighborhood, but a clean restroom is a
"must" in my selection.
