Jasper’s Restaurant has been a Kansas City icon since 1954. Jasper Mirabile Sr. opened the namesake restaurant serving his family’s hearty and delicious old-world recipes. Today, Jasper’s family continues the tradition with his son Jasper J. Mirable Jr. (J.J.) at the helm of the kitchen while other family members help keep traditions alive.

Jasper’s has been rated as a top dining destination throughout the years and was the first KC restaurant to win the coveted Mobil Four Stars for dining excellence. In addition, it has received AAA Four Diamonds, DiRONA Hall of Fame, Top Italian in ZAGAT 2010 and Chef Jasper Jr. has been invited as a guest chef at the James Beard House in New York City.

The influence of Jasper’s owners interest in local foods and local flavors is shown through many facets. Monthly “Experiences” are offered at the restaurant and always feature artisan products in a multi-course dinner coupled with a cooking demonstration. LIVE from Jasper’s Kitchen airs on Saturday mornings from 11-12am on KCMO Talk Radio 710 am radio. Chef Jasper holds weekly cooking demonstrations at local Hen House markets. You might have bumped into “Flat Jasper” while shopping at Hen House! Adjacent to Jasper’s Restaurant is Marco Polo’s Trattoria, a casual, counter service delicatessen and pizzeria. This side has also been a family tradition since 1990.

 Very authentic Italian cuisine. The atmosphere was perfect. Anthony, our waiter was very helpful, answering questions about the menu and recommending favorite entrees. The food was EXCELLENT! The best Italian food we've eaten. You have to save room for dessert also. The whole experience was well worth it and we will be going back very soon!
