A European style bistro featuring fresh contemporary cuisine. A large selection of appetizers includes: Tomato Bruschetta, Crab Cakes, Steamed Mussels, Hummus, Crabmeat Tostadas, and our famous "Spicy Thai Chicken Pizza".
Dinner entrees include several Steak choices with Mushroom Madeira, Cabernet Pepper or Cognac Raisin sauces, as well as several daily Seafood Specials. Notable dinner entrees also include our Crabmeat Stuffed Salmon with Orange Glaze, Grilled Duck Breast with Dark Cherry Sauce, Spicy Shrimp Diablo, Goat Cheese Ravioli, Rosemary Lamb Rack, and Wild Mushroom Risotto with Roasted Chicken.

The meal is complimented by our 40 wines by the glass and our "Best of Award of Excellence", 700 selection wine list. To finish we offer over a dozen hand crafted desserts including Port Crème Brulee, Chocolate Fudge Cake, Real Key Lime Pie, and our famous Bread Pudding.

Atmosphere "It was cold and dreary, but the Classic Cup was warm and friendly. I had a great salmon salad and my husband went for the "cozy" food offering. We loved the $1 over cost bottle of wine and were assured that we could take home any leftovers because of the new law. Our waitress was friendly and helpful."

Atmosphere "When we visit another city, we love to discover it through morning walks. Today we decided to explore our own Kansas City again. We drove into the Plaza, parked, walked to and through Loose Park, and then had breakfast at a sidewalk table at the Classic Cup. Excellent food, beautiful flowers, friendly people and temperature in the 70's--who could ask for more? "

Atmosphere "We dined here on a beautiful late workday afternoon. We sat on the back deck and were pleased that at 5pm on a pretty fall day, it was not busy. We ate light and both ordered appetizers and split a small salad. I had the Scallop appetizer and my husband has the Thai Chicken Pizza. It was so-so, but the scallops were great. For an appetizer portion, I received eight very large scallops. They were prepared well, but I would have preferred a different sauce. These were encrusted in a spicy chili powder rub and served with a side of jicama. This was a pleasant dining experience."

Atmosphere "Breakfast selection was not terribly unique in selection and in taste. That was ok because there was not an overwhelming selection, just menu items that were easy to determine ingredients for time constraints plus dietary restrictions and personal preferences--thus a Sat breakfast before shopping out was not a hassle. Nothing special about the atmosphere, inside seating was busy and too hot to go outside on back *uncovered* deck (which is seating for 4 or more people--front sidewalk seating is for 3 or less). Deck table umbrellas were not enough to protect from morning sun. Wait staff was excellent and efficient as was hostess even despite the busy morning."

Atmosphere "The best pancakes in town! Always good service, sometimes a bit of a wait to get a table, but its worth it! Its great to eat outside in the temperate weather of the fall in KC - and they have tons of outside seating (both in front and behind) Their breakfast potatoes are also to die for!"

Atmosphere "First time to try the breakfast at the Classic Cup and I found it to be an exceptional experience. The atmosphere with the choice of outside dining gave the feel of a European bistro! The French toast was light, flavorful and delicious - love that they warm the syrup! Add to that the French-press coffee and it was perfect. Now to take friends!"
